The students from 6ºEPO, , have been on a trip to celebrate the end of the third cycle of primary; we went to the Guijo de ÁVILA; a place on the shores of the River Tormes surrounded by nature, where we spent four days full of fun and activities.
We have canoed, sailed, climbed, orienteered, created things using origami, used bow and arrow…and many more group games all of which were great fun.
It was a week full of laughter, adventure and fun and at night after dinner candle lit pyjama parties…..what a laugh!!!
From the moment they got on the bus until we returned to school the kids haven’t stopped singing, telling jokes and generally enjoying each other’s company. We can truly say we said goodbye to primary in the best possible way.
Our journey started on the bus, the children were very anxious to arrive to “Valle de los Abedules” After an hour’s trip we finally arrived to our destination!! It was a beautiful sunny day and we were ready to start our activities.
We started with group activities; emotional gymkhana, zip lines and multi adventure. The following day was completed by rock climbing, Masterchef, Archery and falconry.
The children were very keen on beekeeping. This activity was modified due to the cold weather. The beekeeper told us that honey bees eat more during the cold weather and that they were more restless, so we decided not to hassle them. On our way back to the camp we learnt about the flora of the area. All I can say is that we have potential artists in Year 4, they performed, danced and sang like crazy!! – Not to mention the teachers!!
It has been a fantastic experience for all of us. Thank you “Valle de Los Abedules” for making our stay an unforgettable one!
